Bio-DustLocker dust suppressant is a more flexible form of our Bio-Asphalt product. Bio-DustLocker can be blended with water to whatever ratio the job calls for, and is ideal for water trucks. Bio-DustLocker penetrates deep into the surface and builds on itself to promote and maintain long-term road surface stabilization and increase the load bearing strength. Already priced well below the "glue-like" PVA's, Bio-DustLocker becomes even more economical to use over time, as less active ingredient is required to maintain the surface. In addition, Bio-DustLocker is a great follow up product to any Bio-Asphalt dust suppressant application.

APPLICATION: Bio-DustLocker is shipped as a concentrated product and can be diluted with water making it very flexible and cost-effective. Best used on heavily traveled dirt roads and haul roads. Bio-DustLocker is a powerful and long-lasting soil binder that penetrates the aggregate at deeper rates than typical dust suppressants. Bio-DustLocker is all-natural, environmentally safe oil that will protect your soil from weather and traffic degradation.
When possible, the surface should be graded prior to application to attain an equal blend of stone and dust. Bio-DustLocker can be applied with any spraying device used to apply water; including water spray trucks. The initial application should be made using a 1:1 or 2:1 water to oil ratio, and applied at a rate of 1 gallon per 40 square feet to insure a heavy coating. After this initial coating the subsequent treatments can be made using higher dilutions rates to maintain and strengthen the surface.
Recommended treatment rates will vary depending on the surface to be treated and the work environment. Treated surfaces will appear wet following application but will not track or be affected by rain after being treated with Bio-DustLocker.
As with all dust suppressants, application rates and methods depend upon the site, environment, soil type, and more. We recommend smaller test applications to make sure each product matches your environment and expectations, before bulk orders are made.
LONGEVITY: For average conditions, two to three road applications of Bio-DustLocker will build up a hard dust-free surface which will last a year or more. Industrial use rates and life will vary by project. Call for recommendations.
PACKAGING: Bio-DustLocker is packaged for shipping in 275 gallon totes, 55 gallon drums, and 5 gallon buckets. For larger domestic projects, Bio-DustLocker can be shipped bulk in 4,500-6500 gallon tank trucks.
TESTIMONIES: Controlling dust effectively without damaging vehicles or polluting the environment is an issue the Board of Supervisors addresses each spring. In the past traditional dust suppressants have been used on the sixteen miles of dirt roads in the county. Your soybean-based dust suppressant, was applied to the dirt roads last summer. The product was found to be competitively priced and as effective as traditional suppressants. The Township was satisfied with the performance and plans to use the product again.
